Journaling has always been a big part of my life before it even became the focus of my self-care routine. Journaling has life-changing habits especially when you commit to it daily and while it needs focus and commitment, the improvements in your life are definitely worth it, more so when you use the Journey app.
While I’ve been journaling for a while now, I’ve still not been able to commit to the habit of journaling daily. I do the an-hour-a-day journaling that fills 5 pages in my journal. That is until a little over a month ago.
During the past month, I’ve picked up the habit of daily journaling with the help of the Journey App.
It was not easy, especially since I didn’t have any accumulated or pent up emotions or experiences to express daily. This is common especially if you are new to journaling. What I’ve found helps with that is using open-ended journaling prompts. Journaling prompts help you get started with expressing your thoughts.
Some examples of journaling prompt include:
- Who inspires you? Why?
- What is something you are proud of?
- Write a letter to your high school self.
- What would you do if you knew you could not fail?
- What is your ideal life? How can you achieve it?
- What is going well in your life right now?
My favorite part of the journey app is the coaching programs it offers. The coaching programs are journaling prompts programs that run for a week, 2 weeks, a month, 60 days, and even up to a year. And each program covers a theme in personal development.
I’ve been trying to fix my sleep and morning routine since I messed it up during quarantine and it’s been hard for me to have happy, productive mornings. Using the journey app now, I wake up to this:
Morning journaling helps set the tone for my morning by letting go of thoughts that flood my head early in the morning, setting goals for the day, and setting the mood for how my day will go and how I want it to end.
Whichever program you choose, you will reap the benefits journaling has to offer and deep self-improvement in your chosen area.
Some benefits of journaling include:
- Journaling Improves sleep
- It Improves coping with stress
- It Improves communication skills
- It Decreases emotional distress.
- It Keeps a person focused on positive outcomes in negative situations
- Journaling helps improve well-being after traumatic and stressful events
As a free journey member, you have access to a lot of programs except a few exclusive ones that require membership of less than $3 a month
This post is written in collaboration with the journey app. I got a free membership and I will be publishing a journaling prompts coaching program on the app. I used this app for a few weeks before writing my review and all opinions are honest and mine.
Here are the programs journey offers:
My favorite feature:
- The coaching programs
- I also love the mood tracking as I can use it to track my mental health.
Pricing:
The journey app is free for all, including the journaling prompts coaching section except a few exclusive and premium coaching packages and it all costs $30 a year.
Whoever you are and whatever you’re going through, I recommend you start journaling, you can start by journaling once a month, till you feel the need to do it more frequently.
As a beginner, I suggest you use the journey app specifically because of its ease, accessibility, reminders, and journaling prompts that can help you start journaling, you can even start with their how to journal program first.
The Journey app is available on the App Store and Play store for free Download
Oh wow I have never really seen anything like this before it looks interesting!
