When people think of mental health, they often think of conditions someone might have—things like bipolar disorder, anxiety or loneliness. But being in good mental health doesn’t just mean you live without a diagnosable condition.
It also means that you’re able to go through everyday life with grace and ease and you know how you feel when you get stressed, over helmed, face grieve, or any emotional state that doesn’t let you easily go through your normal life.
Below are 8 proven ways that will help your condition and improve your mental health daily and protect you from any slips in your mental health. It is especially great if you have had depression or anxiety and are trying not to slip back into those mental states.
8 Powerful Ways To Improve Your Mental Health
1. Practice gratitude:
Gratitude is giving thanks, giving thanks for everything you have, and what you’ve got. We have a lot of things that we take for granted, our health, the fact that we are alive, the fact that we have food, we have family and friends all these things are things we take for granted until we lose access to them.
Never take things for granted, the best way to have a great morning is giving gratitude immediately you wake up. Giving gratitude, will lift your mood, make you happier and make you feel like you have a purpose.
Because you do, just that when you feel depressed everything is cloudy and dim and you might forget all those things. Taking just one minute to say thank you for this, thank you for that will lift your mood a lot and will make it harder for you to be depressed.

2. Practice daily self-care:
Self-care is basically taking care of yourself in a way that makes you feel good. Doing micro self-care tasks will immediately make you feel better.
Self-care should be done on a daily basis, you should take care of yourself and remember yourself every single day.
You can’t put out what you don’t have, self-care will make you remember what matters most even when you forget when you make yourself matter, depression will be less likely to make you feel you’re not

3. Read affirmations:
Just like motivational quotes, affirmations are a great boost to your self-esteem and your moods, except affirmations last longer than motivational quotes. Affirmations are words, short phrases you can say to remind yourself of a particular trait you have or want to have. It conditions your beliefs and makes you adopt things quickly.
When you say things like:
- I am strong
- I am happy
- I am beautiful.
And remind yourself every single day, you create a shield against any force or emotion that will affect your mental health.

Mindfulness is living in the present. When you practice mindfulness, you won’t be a victim of overthinking, you will be productive, put yourself first and most of all, most likely won’t be depressed
5. Meditate:
When you meditate, you go out of the reality of this world, you detach from the busy universe and connect with something bigger than you.
Your inner self. When you meditate, you breathe and relax, even it is not as easy what i like to do when meditating is to visualize my vision where I want to be.
Whether its confidence, happiness, any emotion or characteristic trait I want, I visualize, when you visualize in that sense of calm, you get the same rush in your body so when you are out of the meditation state, you will still feel that rush and that rush will make you more likely to feel it and do it in real life.
6. Have a daily routine:
Having a daily routine gives you things to look forward to, tasks that will keep your blood flowing, they keep you present in the moment and will not leave you idle.
The idle mind is the devil’s workshop, it also makes you vulnerable to depression. Having a daily routine doesn’t mean you have to be busy the whole day, just have tasks to do in an organized manner at a particular time of day.
